How to Use the Washpit Elevate: Hoisting, Emptying & Best Practices

The Washpit Elevate is a fold-out concrete washout with a reinforced hoisting system, built so crews can lift, empty, and relocate washout waste without manual handling. Here is how to get the most out of it.

Setting up

Deploy the Elevate exactly like the Original Washpit: throw it down and unfold it where washout will occur. No inflating, no pumps — it is ready in seconds. Place it on level ground within reach of the pump or mixer discharge, and where a crane, lift, or forklift can access it later.

Hoisting safely

1. Let the washout settle. Allow solids to settle and, where possible, let excess water evaporate or be removed before lifting.
2. Attach at all reinforced lifting points. The lifting points are integrated into the body and designed for trusted load-bearing. Always use every point — never lift from one side.
3. Lift smoothly. Raise the unit level, move it directly over the disposal container or truck, and release the contents.

Best practices

• Keep the washout inside the containment area required by your site's SWPPP plan.
• Never overfill — leave freeboard so nothing sloshes over during a lift.
• Rinse and refold after emptying; the Elevate stores flat between jobs.
• Inspect lifting points before each hoist, as you would any rigging.
